A Few Extremely Effective Back Exercises

Most guys make the mistake of concentrating too much on their chest and biceps, and not enough on their back and shoulders, when trying to get a ripped physique. I've put together a few great muscle-building back exercises for you to incorporate into your workout. Don't underestimate the importance of strong back, your health and looks are much improved with it.

When starting out, you must understand that your back is actually made up of several smaller muscle groups. Several exercises target each kind of muscle group.

The dead lift is a great exercise option to strengthen your lower back. Dumbbells can be used to perform the deadlift at home, or a weighted barbell is a good option at the gym. When practicing dead lifts, make sure you use the correct technique so that you do not cause yourself injury.

To get a more broad brack, using a rowing machine to develop your lats is a good choice. Just take a look at competitive rowers, have you seen how ripped their backs are? When you are rowing, you are putting a lot of pressure on your latissimus dorsi, which is good to get a broader back. Even just 1/2 an hour every other day on a rowing machine will do wonders for your back.

A simple exercise to get your upper back ripped is the pull up. For this, you will need to affix a bar in a sturdy door frame of your house, and pull your body weight up and then slowly release. I always do pull ups to failure on every set.

When starting out your back program, you'll want to start out with a low number of reps and work your way up over the following few weeks, so you don't hurt yourself. And to increase the muscle mass, be sure to give your muscles several days rest inbetween workouts. Don't try to workout the same muscle groups every day, that is a bad decision when it comes to building muscle.

During your workouts, try to diversify the exercises. The last thing I'll recommend is to make sure you are stretching each workout. Before you start, do some stretching exercises to make sure your muscles are warm and ready to get worked hard.
